Even so, I pressed my way driving just under an hour to sit and learn with what I believe are the most amazing educators in the world. I mean truly, these are not your typical run-of-the-mill educators. These are individuals who willingly give up their Saturdays and summer hours just to sit and talk with other educators about growing and developing as leaders.
When I arrived, the general assembly had just ended, topics for individual sessions had been decided and the attendees were up and off to see what the days learning would bring. After scanning the Q code on the monitor and selecting my first session, I bravely set course for the great unknown.
If you know me, then you know why I describe this experience this way. You see, I am naturally an introvert and I don't usually venture outside of my comfort zone and talk with people I don't already know. Well today I'm glad I did, because not only did initiate some conversations; I decided that the conversations don't have to end when the day ends. Nope, for the first time in my life I made a conscious decision to stay connected to the wonderful people I met at today's EdCamp Leader.
